I could spot more wildlife and birds in the parks of Sydney than I have been able to spot in the moors of England ( well, to be honest, I have not been birding in England much either ).
Walking in The Hyde park along the Opera house in Sydney, the white Ibis does not shy away from giving you a couple of poses.
The kookaburras are one of the funniest sounding birds of Australia, could be disguising themselves in the tree branches or stealing your cookies and bread – not as vicious as the Seagulls though
Some of the best zoos I have been to are in Sydney. The birds are evasive and I could only shoot some usable photos
These two large ones are poles apart. The Emu has a lot of tantrums and the Cassowary is just too shy. It is amazing that some zoos and sanctuaries allow us to feed the animals and have “experience” with them. The Emu was not happy with the feed that was given to her, sadly. Meanwhile, the Cassowary was just to shy – a long zoom to capture the magnificent colours on her neck meant I could not get a full profile shot.
Ozzies are great but the wildlife and the birds sanctuaries in Oz are even better. One cannot get bored in the beautiful country.
