This is probably my favourite photo challenges. I love to find stories with multiple layers – something interesting with the subject and how it ties with the background.

I captured this shot in Santorini, Greece while walking through the streets of Fira. The Caldera makes for the best background that a photographer could ask for, I think 😀

The Belem tower in Lisbon is a beautiful spot to take a walk. The cool wind from the estuary ( I think it is an estuary ) makes the walk pleasant. A tiny beach on the waterfront lets you have some bare-footed fun too. Mostly you see folks taking selfies in front of the tower, however, the candid shots are the best in my opinion.

This one was taken in Lisbon, Portugal. Aren’t trams the most charming way of going from one place to another? And, the stories you see zipping by on those rails are just amazing. I found a moment to capture this shot where the posters in the background look like passengers on the tram.

Among the several other reasons, I adored Istanbul for its love for cats. They are so well taken care of – those fluff balls walking in the city as if they own it. This photo was taken in Athens, Greece where the cats are much skinnier and ignored – probably too hot for them as well. Nonetheless, I found it so amusing to see the cat waiting in front of the store. Is it waiting for the shop owner to return from their lunch break?

In the city of marvellous ruins – Athens, Greece, a photo that goes over the head ( quite literally ) to catch the tourists protecting themselves from the sun with one of the Athenian ruins in the background.

In my last roll of Lomography Metropolis film, I got unintentional double exposures. While some photos did not turn out to be good, I quite like this one.

Just some lads walking through the streets of Exeter, United Kingdom with the castle looming over them. The reflections of the subject as well as the background merge together on the glistening streets after the rain.

The postcard subject of Exeter, United Kingdom goes to the background in this photo to make way for the row boats tied on the banks of Exeter, ready to be taken out for a nice row on a pleasant day.
I had such a hard time picking photos for this challenge. I am hoping that this challenge will return for my next batch.
