My lessons in photography

  • Winter Streets

    Winter Streets

Dawn’s Monochrome Madness post reminded me of the photos that I took in the last weeks of winter. It is interesting that it is not only the humans who feel doleful during winters, the streets also get gloomy. The grand streets of touristy towns like Bath are also not as bustling as they would be…

    FOTD – Goldsturm

Brilliantly rendered by Fujifilm C200 on Canon AE-1. The picture almost looks like a painting. I don’t think I want to pixel peep or have the highest resolution and clarity when the picture looks like a painting 🙂 Posted for Cee’s Flower of the Day

  • Scope

    Scope

In the midst of a narrow trail in nearby park, a clear winter day offered a beautiful view of a distant church. I love this trail especially because of the canopy of trees which create a tunnelling effect. It is especially fun to play around with vintage lenses in this trail. This photo, however was…

When in Rome, carry your camera. -Anonymous Photographer There is a beautiful composition in every corner of Rome. A beautiful city with amazing architecture which was a delight for me while trying out my hand at street photography. In this photo, I played a bit with hue and colours to accentuate the yellows of the…

  • Confined

    Confined

Turn any corner in Rome and you may find a tunnelling alley leading up to a beautiful piece of architecture. One of the most beautiful cities to do street photography. Posted for Dan’s Thursday Doors.

London – she inspires street style of photography. Shoot in colour or without, there are always interesting stories walking around in London. Posted for Leanne’s Monochrome Madness

  • Dew and Bubbles

    Dew and Bubbles

While practising photography as a hobby, clicking photos of bokeh has been the most fun. It does not always need to be smooth and silky. Sometimes, the bubbles are fun to have in the bokeh.

  • Rust

    Rust

With the spring season upon the northern hemisphere and beautiful colours starting to bloom everywhere, it is almost nostalgic to remember the rustic colours of autumn and winter. Posted for Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge

    Sprung

Rome is one of the most beautiful cities that I have been too. Away from the crowded tourist locations and the monuments, the charm of back alleys of Rome is just hypnotising. Posted for Dan’s Thursday Doors

  • Pop

    Pop

Neither British weather nor the British fashion usually offer a lot of colour, especially in the winters. It is a delight to capture pops of colour in otherwise gloomy wintery streets of London. The film here is Lomography CN 400 and like I pointed out in some other posts, it does well with the reds.

  • Bridged

    Bridged

London is one of my favourite places to shoot street. The thing that I like the most is juxtaposition of old and new in London but every now and then you see pops of colour in the chic parts of the city that just make you fall in love with the city in yet another…

  • Push

    Push

A cute photo that I was able to take of three generations pushing a stroller through streets of Camden, London. The elements of the house and the street bring nice pops of colours to the photo – bright blue door is the start in my opinion, followed closely by the post box. Once again, Lomography…

  • Charm

    Charm

A random shot in Camden, London with Lomography CN 400. The film shining again with deep reds and excellent low light performance. The bokeh elements are courtesy of the humble Canon kit lens.

  • Snack

    Snack

Another composition where I think the Lomography CN 400 shines nicely. Below average light of London with pops of reds. The film does beautifully in the shadows and under low light. The reds are nicely saturated but not oversaturated. They have the right amount of depth in my opinion.

  • Tunnel

    Tunnel

There is so much excitement when you try a new film and Lomography Colour 400 has been an absolute pleasure. In good light, the film has such fine grain that it is difficult to distinguish it from a digital photo. However, low light and reds are where this film shines. The low light shots have…

    Sun-kissed Flight

There is something unique about the Fuji colours. It is almost like there is a layer of smoothness on top of bright colours like yellows and blues that adds to the mood of the photo.
